The Reiki Principles
of Dr. Usui
Reiki is a form of
healing energy which exists freely in the universe. It is a gift to us from the
Divine. In order to access this energy, our Chakras (energy centers in the
body) must be attuned to the frequency of the energy by a certified Reiki
Master Teacher. Reiki is a very simple, perfect energy source. You can’t do any
harm with Reiki but you can do a world of good. It isn’t of course a substitute
for traditional medical care, but a wonderful adjunct to it.

In my years as a Reiki
Master, I have encountered wonderful, miraculous stories from my students and
clients and of course in my own personal life. Becoming a Reiki Master changed my life on all three levels:
Body, Mind and Spirit. I can honestly say (and my long term friends will attest
to), that I am a different person today than I was in the early 90s. Most of my
physical ills have healed, I have grappled with and overcome the dysfunctions
of my childhood, and I have experienced the incredible joy which accompanies
guiding others down the path of healing.
Reiki is not just a healing
modality but a spiritual path which permeates every aspect of one’s life. Dr.
Usui taught Reiki as a spiritual process which encompasses use of meditation,
intuition, right thinking, regular spiritual practice and other Eastern
principles. By allowing Reiki into one’s life, one finds, (often astonishingly)
that life irrevocably changes when you allow the energy and the Reiki
Principles to flow into your life.
There are three levels
of Reiki proficiency: Reiki I, II, and III, which is the Master Teacher and/or
Healer level. Reiki II is a very simple, hands on process which involves an
attunement. Reiki II involves learning symbols and, by attunement, gives on the
ability to do distance and emotional healing. Reiki III is taught in two levels. The Reiki Master Healer level (Advanced Reiki Training) fine tunes
the healing ability of the healer and also teaches Japanese techniques utilized
by Dr. Usui and his student, Dr. Hayashi. The Master Teacher level encompasses
all of the Healer level plus gives the student the ability to teach and pass on
attunements to others. Since I believe that Reiki is a process rather than a
“one shot deal”, I work with my upper level students for several weeks or
months, as needed. I also am available to all my students for any issues they
may encounter on their path.
Along with Reiki, Crystal Healing and Chakra Therapy are taught because they enhance the Reiki Treatment. Crystals
and stones can be used for healing as well as for personal manifestation and
magic. Crystals and stones can be considered our personal tools, and a class in
Crystal Healing/Manifestation will teach you how to effectively use these
tools. Crystal Healing works
especially well with Reiki Healing.
In fact, crystals can be effectively used to amplify Reiki energy.
Reiki I is now being offered for children. It is safe and taught simply, geared to the child's age and skill level. Your child will receive the Reiki I attunement and learn how to give and receive healing. Other children's classes such as Crystal Healing, Chakras, Totem Animals and Affirmations and Positive Thinking are also available.
I have
found that the Chakra method of Reiki Treatment is simple and effective. The Chakras are energy centers in the
body. All functions of the human being are governed by a Chakra. There are seven major centers in the
physical body, and more that lie beyond the physical body. An energetic
“wrapper” surrounds the body and is called the Aura. This can been seen or
sensed by some as either white light or colors.
It is my belief that the planet and all its inhabitants need
Reiki and healing now more than ever. We are destroying our environment,
endangering species and our forests, atmosphere and land on frightening levels,
encountering unprecedented natural disasters and disease is becoming more and
more resistant to antibiotics. When one person raises their vibrations, heals themselves, the whole
world benefits, as we are all connected.
