You should be able to see
the Annular Solar Eclipse in San Diego and the Southwest on Sunday. An annular eclipse is one where the Moon covers most of the Sun, with the exception of a ring of solar rays around the outside.
This eclipse is very powerful, especially to those
of the signs of Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius, and Virgo. These signs will be
feeling a need to make major changes in the coming months. This eclipse will
emphasize the law of cause and effect, and what you have sowed will come back
in force to you, for good or for bad. This eclipse presents an opportunity to
learn from our karma. We will be
feeling the effects of this eclipse for a time to come. "Instant
karma" is the phrase.
5:30 PM – 7:45 PM, Maximum viewing 6:39 PM
Sun in Gemini 5/20/12 Annular Eclipse "Ring of Fire"
*DO NOT LOOK INTO THE SUN. TO DO SO WILL INJURE YOUR EYES.
To see a list of where and when the eclipse will be visible in your location, check out this LA Times article:

One thing we do quite regularly here is turn an entire room into a crystal grid. This is effective when combating illness, or for classes or Reiki Circles.
Before creating your grid, cleanse the energy of the room with White Sage.
Get four large quartz crystals, cleansed and charged. Raw work well for this purpose. Depending on what I want to do, I might choose Rose Quartz, Citrine or clear Quartz. Rose Quartz works well for Reiki Circles. It's calm loving energy is easily experienced by all in the room. Citrine is good as an energizer and is quite an effective healer. It also doesn't hold negative energy, so it never needs to be cleansed. And clear Quartz works well for just about everything else.
For Reiki Circles, healing sessions and classes, I will place a large cluster in the center of the room. Clusters are excellent for group work. There seems to be something for everyone in there! You can also use a large point, such as an Isis or a Dow crystal.
Visualize the Reiki symbols over each stone after placing them in the corners of the room and chant their names as a mantra, three times each. If you are using a center crystal, hold it in your hands and draw or say the Reiki symbols over the stone. This charges the crystals. Be sure to charge the crystals whenever you do work in the room. And be especially sure to sage both the crystals and the room when you are done.
If you are using the crystals for a sick person, charge the crystals twice a day. It only takes a few moments, and is very powerful. You can also charge their water, food and medications with Reiki symbols.

Yarrow, or Achillea millefolium is a creeping perennial herb with white or rose colored flowers. Yarrow has been used for healing by humans for over 50,000 years and in the mythology of Greece, Achilles was said to use Yarrow for bleeding in his soldiers.
This herb is anti-inflammatory and is used in the treatment of gastrointestinal inflammation and as a digestive aid. It has been used to lower fever and relieve cramps. It also has antibacterial qualities and can relieve the symptoms of cold and flu.
Yarrow is generally used as a tea and can also be made into a poultice. Before using on wounds, be sure to clean the area thoroughly, as it stops bleeding very quickly and can seal in bacteria and dirt.
This herb should not be used by pregnant and nursing women, or people with gallstones or allergy.

The Olive Tree is an amazing feat of nature. It is native to the Mediterranean. It has been used since ancient times. Hippocrates, the "father of medicine" prescribed olive oil for ulcers, cholera and muscle pain. It's fruit, the olive, is used in cooking and for making olive oil...a very healthy oil as opposed to some of the other oils that are used for cooking. Use the raw unfiltered oil for the best benefit.
The leaf itself is a little miracle of nature. A compound, Oleuropein, is made from the leaf and found to be a part of the olive trees amazing disease fighting properties. Researchers found that the Oleropein could lower blood pressure, increase blood flow in the coronary arteries, relieve arrhythmia's and prevent intestinal muscle spasms. Another compound of the olive leaf, Elenolic acid, can kill many kinds of viruses, bacteria and protozoans. It is also effective against antibiotic resistant bacteria, yeast and fungi that contribute to chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction issues. It has also been shown to help with fibromyalgia and herpes virus infection.
I am currently carrying a line of products made from Olive Leaf by my good friend Veronica Carroll. The line is called VerOlives....there is a wonderful Olive Leaf Tincture, along with some great face products: a wash, a toner, moisturizer, sunscreen and shaving cream. I've been using the products for quite a while now and I really see a difference in my skin. If you are interested in the products, check out our "Products" section.

I am truly enjoying my herb gardens. I now have two, one primarily for culinary purposes and one is a medicinal herb garden. It's very satisfying to me to grow these helpful plants and I'd like to share some of their characteristics with you.
Tanacetum parthenium, or Feverfew, is a perennial herb that grows to about 2 feet in height. Hardy and easy to grow, it's a good edition to any medicinal herb garden.
Feverfew has a long history as a remedy for migrane headaches. Its use dates back to 1 AD. It was used by the ancient Greeks to treat melancholy, headaches and fever. It has been found to have anti-inflammatory abilities. Recent studies have shown it may be beneficial in the treatment of Lupus and Rheumatoid arthritis. It is used to control the side effects of migranes, such as vomiting and visual distortion.
It should only be taken in the form of encapsulated freeze dried herb, and people who are allergic to Ragweed should not use it. Also, it may cause uterine bleeding in rare cases, so it should not be taken by pregnant women.
